HOLY CANNON In 1803, commemorating the victory of Tay Son, King Gia Long ordered to confiscate all copper weapons to cast into nine cannons. Each of them had 510 centimeters (length) and over 17,000 pounds (weigh) placed on exquisitely carved gun racks. They were named after the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and named after the five elements: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth. In 1816, King Gia Long ordained them to strong and mighty gods which were protected and sacrificed as deities.
